Inner Mongolia
Zhenglan Power Plant and Daihai Power Plant with a total
investment of RMB 9.5 billion recently started their
construction the same time.
The completion of 2 plants that each has 2 generating units
with a unit installed capacity of 600,000 KW will transmit
more electricity to east China region.
Inner Mongolia features rich coal, petroleum and natural gas
resources and a biggest natural gas field in China and a
world-class oilfield are located here.
Since the operation of China Western Development, a total
investment of RMB 13.4 billion has been put in several power
projects in Inner Mongolia.
In 2002, Inner Mongolia completed an installed capacity of 5.1
million KW and a transmission of 1 million KW to Beijing,
northeast and north China region.
In sum, Inner Mongolia has been an important energy base in
west-to-east power transmission project.
During the Tenth Five Plan period, Inner Mongolia has planned
to put over RMB 34 billion in the construction of power plants
and transmission pipelines and will complete an installed
capacity of 15 million KW and a transmission of 7 million KW
in 2005 as scheduled.
8 power plants and several power transmission pipeline
projects are under construction at top speed.
Inner Mongolia has always raised funds in many ways. Recently,
the government signed development agreements with Shenhua
Group and China Huaneng Group Corp etc., with a view to ensure
steady development of the energy industry in Inner Mongolia.
