2. Main goals of the SMHRIC: |

To gather and distribute information concerning Southern (Inner) Mongolian
human rights situation and general human rights issues;

To promote and protect ethnic Mongolians’
all kind of rights such as basic human rights, indigenous rights,
minority rights, civil rights, and political rights in
Southern Mongolia; |

To encourage human rights and
democracy grassroots movements in Southern Mongolia. |

To promote human rights and democracy
education in Southern Mongolia. |

To improve the international
community’s understanding of deteriorating human rights
situations , worsening ethnic, cultural and environmental
problems in Southern Mongolia.

the SMHRIC: |

The SMHRIC has six Board Directors and four officers (
a president, two vice presidents and a secretary/treasurer).

SMHRIC has an Advisory Board that is consisted of non-SMHRIC members.

The SMHRIC has a headquarter and several branches.

Southern Mongolian Watch ( SMW ), an electronic newsletter
regarding Southern Mongolian human rights situation and general
human rights and democracy issues, is being published in
English, Chinese, and Japanese.

The SMHRIC has a round seal and a letter-head sheet with
the name of the organization in the Traditional Mongolian Script
