It is reported that production capacity of raw coal in Inner
Mongolia Autonomous Region has reached 455 million tonnes
annually, becoming the second largest coal producing region
in China.
The northern coal rich region has been experiencing a fast
growth in its coal industry, which has played a vital role
in securing coal supplies during the Beijing Olympics, snow
disaster in southern China earlier this year.
According to official data total raw coal output in the
first ten months reached 386 million tonnes, growing 9.04%
from last year’s total, which reached 354 million tonnes.
Currently, the proven coal reserves in Inner Mongolia reach
up to 690 billion tonnes, ranking the first in China. |
