Last statue of Vladimir Lenin removed in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia |
Mr. Erdeniin Bat-Uul, mayor of Ulaanbaatar (capital of Mongolia), leader of the Democratic Party, and member of the State Great Khural (Parliament), recently removed the last bronze statue of Vladimir Lenin and strongly denounced Communism.
When addressing the crowd during the dismantling ceremony, Mr. Bat-Uul also criticized the Chinese Communist Party’s massacres against its own citizens.
“The Chinese Communist leaders killed more than 60 million innocent people in China, which is more than 10 times of the total number of the Chinese killed by all foreign occupations in the history of China combined,” he said in the speech.
“Communism has almost been put to an end in the history of mankind. However, today wherever there is terrorism or killing in Africa, Latin America or South East Asia, there is still Communism behind it. They are the people who can do nothing but killing,” Bat-Uul added. These words seemed to touch the nerve of the Chinese authorities and aggravated them the most.
According to 24tsag.mn, a Mongolian online news site, Chinese Ambassador to Mongolia Mr. Wang Xiaolong arranged a special meeting with the Foreign Minister of Mongolia, Mr. L. Bold, to address the mayor’s remark.
“The Chinese Communist Party, along with its people, has strived to make the mother nation a world power and defended the national independence and sovereignty. Today, even western countries stopped saying anything like this about China, let alone your country,” the Ambassador Wang Xiaolong stated to Mr. L. Bold during their meeting. He demanded an apology from Bat-Uul and an official clarification from the Government of Mongolia and ruling Democratic Party of Mongolia, according to 24tsag.mn.
“The People’s Republic of China has never interfered with the internal affairs of the Country of Mongolia and Democratic Party, and has always respected the sovereignty and independence of Mongolia,” the Chinese Ambassador stated, warning Mongolians of questions of independence and sovereignty.
The Foreign Ministry of China also delivered an official note to the Embassy of Mongolia in Beijing on the same matter, according to 24tsag.mn.
“Recent American infiltration in Mongolia is altering the course of traditional relationships between Ulaanbaatar and its neighboring countries,” reported Chinese overseas online source Duo Wei News (www.duoweinews.com), blaming the Americans for motivating Bat-Uul’s statement.
